The Western Port Greenhouse Alliance recently selected Skygreen and its consortium partner, the Brotherhood of St Laurence, to be their preferred suppliers of residential energy efficiency services as part of their ‘Eco-Living Community Challenge'.

The Western Port Greenhouse Alliance (WPGA) was established in 2004 as a partnership of Victorian local governments to implement projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and respond to climate change.

Comprising the Shire of Baw Baw, Bass Coast Shire Council, Cardinia Shire Council, City of Casey, Frankston City Council, City of Kingston and the Mornington Peninsula Shire, the WPGA manages a number of projects within its councils' constituencies including retro-fitting homes with solar panels and ceiling insulation.

The consortium of Skygreen and the Brotherhood of St Laurence was chosen to implement the energy efficient initiatives because the Brotherhood offered particular expertise in reaching disadvantaged families, while Skygreen offered unparalleled expertise in planning, installation and implementation capabilities.

The consortium will deliver a broad range of services, including home assessments, residential retrofits and householder education in WPGA's effort to reach zero carbon emissions within its regions.
